These components are mostly used to generate power ultra-sound or as sensors. They are built into industrial OEM applications, where annual quantities are in the mid (1000s) to large (some 100'000s) range. We recommend using standard geometries if you start a new development. Disks are made in standard geometries with diameter of 3, 5, 10, 16, 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50mm and thickness starting at 0.2mm up to 20mm. This corresponds to a (thickness) resonance frequency of 200kHz to 10MHz. Electrodes are made of Ag (mesh printing) and CuNi or Au (sputtered). Special applications can be served with wrapped electrodes.
The outer diameters (OD) of rings are typically 10, 12.7, 25, 38, 50mm. The inner diameter (ID) is chosen to fit a pin or screw to adjust a pre-load on the set-up. (typ. diam.: 2.7, 4.3 or 5.2mm). The thickness is 0.5, 1.0, 2.0mm or 5.0 and 6.0mm for larger rings. more information
