KMLabs was established in 1994 by Professor Margaret M. Murnane and Professor Henry C. Kapteyn. Their research in the early 1990s resulted in the development of the first robust and repeatable mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser capable of generating <10fs light pulses. KMLabs sold several hundred reliable low-cost, ultrafast Ti:sapphire laser oscillators to customers worldwide.

Photon Control Inc. is an engineering design, development, and sensor manufacturing company located in the Vancouver area on the beautiful West Coast of Canada. The development and evolution of compact spectrometers over the last 10 years has moved this important tool from the lab bench to many new scientific and industrial applications. These compact spectrometers or spectral engines are able to split light into its component wavelengths and send this information to a computer. Since 2004, Photon Control has been developing and manufacturing innovative, compact spectrometers, for customers worldwide.

PI Physik Instrumente GmbH is the manufacturer leader of Nanopositoning system for the machine tools and laser industry, microscopy and SPM/AFM/NSOM, biotechnology and medical tools, photonic and telecom, precision machining, astronomy, space industry, metrology and optical inspection.
For a perfect solution, there is a corresponding electronic (amplifier and regulation) and software (Mikromove®, DLL's, LabView® drivers) for each mechanics that integrates high resolution sensor. The integration of our products in your setup is thus realised in a very efficient way.
PI is the only system manufacturer that develop and produce his own Piezo ceramic. Thanks to this fact, PI was able to bring new drive concept on the market: NexLine® and NexAct® actuator, PILine® ultrasonic motor and PICMA® Multilayer LVPZT.
Since 20 years, PI offers alos positioning system with 6 degrees of freedom (6DOF) which are based on a parallel cinmematics (also called Stewart platform, for more details see Hexapods). Typical application with this products were successfully realised in the astronomy and telecoms industry (Fiber-alignment, micro-optics).
Althought the 500pages PI catalog offers 2000 standard products, more than 70% of the turn-over is achieve with custom specific OEM system.

PI Ceramic GmbH is a 100% owned sister company of PI Physik Instrumente GmbH with main building in Lederose (Thüringen). It develops and produces since 1992 its owned piezoceramic materials branded on the name of PIC (PI piezo Ceramic).
Besides the stacked actuator which are integrated in high volume in PI system, we offers also OEM components for the sensor or the ultrasonic application industry. Our speciality are custom specific solution in volume of 10'000 to 1 million units. Typical compnents are rings, disks, sheets, tube or stacked actuators partially integrated with for example wire or segmented electrods.

SIOS Meßtechnik GmbH produce laser interferometer and other precision instruments for the measurement of distance, angle, vibration and other physical units like mass, force and pressure. They are mainly based on miniaturised laser interferometer.
These systems for distance measurement, fibre-coupled and achieving resolution up to 0.1nm, are based on the use of a frequence stablized He-Ne laser as light source and correction of the environmental parameter's influence relevant for the laser wavelength. These two components guarentee the very high stability and precision of our products.

Ekspla (ISO9001 certify) produces solide-state laser and electro-optical components. As a spin-off of the Physical Institute of the Science Academy of Lituania in Vilnius, Ekspla is one of the first company that arrives on the west Europe market.
The Nd:YAG pumped by flash lamps and the OPO's (Q-switch or mode coupling) have contributed to the reputation of Ekspla. The actual systems are based on DPSS laser and are used in industrial or research application.
As a speciality offers Ekspla complete micro-machining picosecond laser system for the watch or solar industry. In addition, intra-volume glass-marking for security against fake luxury products or biotechological components are really good.
